April 2006 Issue

Dear Reader,

You may notice that as the earth wakes up from winter, so do you. More daylight, budding leaves and milder weather signal that it's spring, a time to lighten up and get into action. You may be craving lightly prepared foods, green vegetables, fresh air or outdoor activity.

Following your spring cravings is a great idea. Your body is highly intelligent, sending you messages about what it needs to make a healthy transition to the new season. Eating spring foods, like raw vegetables and leafy greens, will help you detoxify from heavy winter foods, support weight loss, reduce allergies and lift your mood.

You may also have the urge to start something new. Is there a project you want to create? An adventure you want to have? A mission you want to pursue? I encourage you to follow your instincts. Spring provides the upward, outward energy you need to put your plans in motion and make your dreams come true.

If your dreams include helping others be happier and healthier, our school is the place for you. With so much confusion in the world about how to be well, you as a unique individual have the capacity to help many people. We are committed to empowering you to put your energy, creativity and intelligence into action.

Where in your life can you take action to make a difference now? I encourage you to explore your spring energy, discovering how truly powerful you are.

Wishing you a happy, healthy spring,
