June 2006 Issue

Dear Reader,

Most of us don't realize how much our life would improve if we were doing work we loved. You probably spend eight to ten hours a day at a job, and much less time with your loved ones. You might be choosy about your friends, intimate partner or food, yet work at a job for years or decades that is out of alignment with who you are. This can create a kind of internal confusion that drains you of health and vitality.

Having work you love is an important form of nourishment. There are few things more rewarding than being deeply involved in exciting work. When your job is fulfilling and fun, it's not really work. It is an accomplishment that makes you feel naturally healthy and energized.

As a spiritual being in a material world, you are here to accomplish something. The work you do all day, every day, is central to your purpose. Take a moment to think about what you want to get done in this lifetime. Is your career in alignment with your deepest values and desires? Doesn't it make sense to work on something you are passionate about?

If the idea of spending your working hours helping others become healthier and happier inspires you, I invite you to check out our school. You could become a powerful advocate for the health of America and the world, while greatly enhancing your career satisfaction.

Next weekend both Deepak Chopra and Julia Butterfly Hill will be here as we graduate a new class of health counselors. This time next year you could be graduating into an incredible new career as a health counselor. Maybe we'll see you there.

Congratulations to the class of 2006!
