How Integrative Nutrition Grad Andrea Hood Empowers Women
Before enrolling in Integrative Nutrition, Andrea Hood was working a stressful and unfulfilling job. She knew that she needed a big change, and felt compelled to pursue a career that would not only change her life professionally but also personally.
When she came across Integrative Nutrition's Health Coach Training Program, she knew it was her opportunity to embark on an incredible journey toward happiness.
Read on to discover how Integrative Nutrition inspired Andrea to trust herself and transform the lives of the people in her life.
What were you doing prior to enrolling at Integrative Nutrition?
I was working full time in sales and project management for my family's flooring business. It was a high-stress, demanding job that had me depressed, anxious, and feeling completely drained.
What led you to explore the Health Coach Training Program?
I was in a meeting with my boss (my father), who was talking about how I was going to take over the company. I didn't say much in the meeting, but my father had big plans for me. I just remember feeling completely trapped and thinking, "No, this is not what I want to do with my life. This is so stressful and doesn't fulfill me." I left that meeting and signed up for IIN that night. My gut was telling me, "You need to do this. This is your way to a better life." And I trusted my gut—so glad that I did!
Which topics and modules were most beneficial for you?
I really enjoyed both Debbie Ford and Geneen Roth—both were very powerful messages to me that I needed to learn to love not only my body, but who I am as a person. They were a big stepping-stone into coming into my own and being able to speak my truth with authenticity.
What projects are you currently working on?
I recently launched a new recipe e-book Healthy Balls for Happy Girls: 5 Tasty Treats to Satisfy Your Sweet Tooth and it is a huge success with nearly 1,000 people downloading it! I specialize in teaching busy women how to eat healthy on the go, and my healthy balls are the perfect snack for doing just that. (Plus, I got to infuse my sassy side, which I love!)
What makes you and your practice or product unique?
I run my practice entirely online, which is great because I live in a small town in southern New Hampshire where I struggled to find clients. As soon as I went online, I started getting clients around the USA and in countries like Canada, Mexico, and Columbia. Looking forward to expanding my practice even more in 2014!
What do you love about your work?
I LOVE connecting with healthy, like-minded women all around the world! The Internet is a powerful tool and it has brought me some of my closest friends, and some really great clients. I love empowering women to take charge of their lives, live authentically, and learn to truly love themselves.
