How IIN Grad Marissa Vicario Is Helping Women Get “Holistically Hot”

Meet Marissa Vicario, Author, Health Coach and Women’s Lifestyle Expert. When she discovered Integrative Nutrition in 2004, Marissa quickly found her mission in life through Health Coaching and teaching women how to trust and love themselves by making positive health and lifestyle changes with lasting results!

We recently learned she has her first book coming out, Your Holistically Hot Transformation, and were thrilled to spend a few moments catching up with her! Read her story below…

What were you doing prior to enrolling at Integrative Nutrition?
I was working in corporate communications at a Fortune 500 Company.

What led you to explore the Health Coach Training Program?
I always knew that I was meant to be doing more meaningful work in this world, but I wasn't sure what that was. My interest in nutrition and fitness lead me to IIN for the first time in 2004 and over the years, it kept leading me back. It took me five years to see the signs and take the leap of faith to enroll, but once I did I never looked back.

How did your life change after enrolling in Integrative Nutrition? 
Once I enrolled, I finally felt like I was home. I started speaking to groups, started my blog and working with clients. In essence, putting myself out there in a way I never have before. It was the catalyst I needed to make a career change, release toxic people and habits in my life and actually start living with purpose.

What are you up to now?
With the help of IIN's Launch Your Dream Book course for graduates, I just published my first book, Your Holistically Hot Transformation. The book follows my own journey to a healthier, more purpose-driven life and making healthy, fit and balanced (aka Hot), less intimidating, more approachable and totally attainable regardless of where you are on your own path to a healthier lifestyle. I'm not about the "eat this not that", impossibly intense workouts, diets that eliminate whole food groups, shakes with artificial ingredients or obscure foods with high price tags mentality, so this book has none of that!

What makes you and your practice or product unique?
I'm very aware that wellness and nutrition are trending, but to the point that it can be confusing to the average woman who is either just getting started on her health journey or else has tried everything to no avail and is feeling frustrated trying to make sense of all the information available. To that end, I take a simple approach to nutrition to make it approachable and relatable. I want every woman to feel like a healthy lifestyle is in reach regardless of what's going on in her life.

How do you help your clients be successful? 
I teach women how to trust themselves to make slimming, nutritious and energizing choices without resorting to fad diets.

I love that this work allows me be authentically me.
