We have found that our most successful students do this program with friends or family. You will go through a lot of changes and with changes can come fear and excitement. It’s good to be able to share these with someone you care about.
With your support buddy—whether it is your spouse, parent or best friend—you will set weekly and monthly goals that will help the two of you accomplish your vision. You can support each other in improving school foods, developing a corporate wellness program or losing weight. Your support buddy will hold you accountable for accomplishing your goals and you will do the same for them.
Finding your support buddy:
- Who in your life wants to improve their health?
- Do you have a friend who is unfulfilled in their current job and wants a career more aligned with their values?
- Would this person hold you accountable to achieving your goals?
- Can you open up to this person about your fears and aspirations?
- Are you looking forward to strengthening your relationship and improving communication with this person?
The students who have gone through the program with a support buddy have found that it not only made a huge impact on what they were able to accomplish during their time at the school, but also in their relationship outside of Integrative Nutrition. By sharing something as significant as health and career goals, your bond will grow beyond your wildest dreams.
What do our graduates have to say about doing the program with a significant other, friend or parent?
We weren’t in careers that were aligned with our core beliefs. We wanted our daughter to grow up with parents who love what they do. Going through the program together deepened our relationship. Our communication improved and we learned to nourish our relationship by slowing down and enjoying our family time together.
– Annette and Billy Varoli, Class of 2007
As children get older, there is more of an opportunity to learn from one another. I know I have learned so much from Jason and he’s learned from me. My best friends are the ones I’ve gone to school with, so I really mean it when I say not only is Jason my son, but he is also one of my best friends. Even though school is over, the learning never ends. Jason and I continue to reflect on all the knowledge we gained.
