Questions About IIN Reviews
Is the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN) a scam?
The Institute for Integrative Nutrition is the world’s largest nutrition school with over 20,000 students and graduates who live and practice in 80 countries. We offer comprehensive training in over one hundred dietary theories, holistic health and wellness, and health coaching. Most of IIN’s students and graduates rave about their experience at our school and would be shocked to hear the word “scam” in the same sentence as the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. To gain a better understanding of the educational experience, please read Integrative Nutrition reviews.
In 2008, an independent, third-party, higher education consulting firm surveyed our students and graduates. They discovered that IIN had the highest satisfaction rating of any school they had ever measured. While it is impossible to please everyone, we are certain that the vast majority of our students and graduates (over 20,000 people over the past 20 years) have been satisfied with training they received at IIN.
Is Institute for Integrative Nutrition a rip off?
Most of our graduates believe that IIN’s tuition is the best investment they ever made. The school offers an extremely high quality education as well practical and proven business training. For this reason, our students typically go on to establish profitable businesses within the first year after graduation. Some of our students are even able to pay for their tuition before completing the program through the fees collected for their health coaching services.
Having worked with over 20,000 students in our twenty year history, the Institute for Integrative Nutrition is subject to the opinions and reviews of many people. We take all complaints very seriously, and seek to resolve them quickly and in fairness to all parties. The Institute for Integrative Nutrition offers a very valuable education and has extremely high levels of student satisfaction. We work tirelessly to ensure that our students receive much more than they ever expected.
How much do IIN graduates make after graduation?
The rates that our graduates charge vary based on the market they serve. The most common rate our graduates charge is $125 per hour, which is based on a 6-month, 12-session coaching program where the client pays $250 per month. Our graduates charge up to $600 per month ($300 per hour) and more for the same program, depending on their particular market and other value-added services that they include. IIN does not dictate the rates that our graduates charge, but we do encourage our graduates to realize the high value of the services they provide in helping people to become healthier and happier through health coaching.
Has IIN ever withheld a student’s certificate even when they paid the tuition?
While Institute for Integrative Nutrition has a very high rate of graduation, we occasionally have students who do not complete our requirements for graduation. We work with our students individually and make our best effort to help them all to have a successful experience at the school. In an effort to help all students graduate, IIN offers extensions or the opportunity to transfer to a later class to students who are facing extenuating circumstances. Despite these efforts on our part, some students still fail to meet their graduation requirements.
In order to ensure the integrity of the education offered Institute for Integrative Nutrition, we must adhere to our policy of granting certificates only to students who successfully complete all required components of the course. This policy is similar to that of almost every academic institution there is. At the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, we do everything we can to provide an excellent education so that our graduates can have successful careers in health coaching, but we do require that our students match our efforts with their own.
Do Integrative Nutrition graduates have trouble finding work in the field?
Our graduates typically have a very high level of success in their chosen field. Many IIN alumni start private practices in health coaching. Some apply their knowledge to their current practice as nurses, dieticians, doctors, personal trainers, yoga instructors, and life coaches. Still others go on to start healthful food companies, publish books, or work for established businesses in the health and wellness industry. Some students matriculate at IIN in order to expand their personal knowledge and learn how to improve their own health and that of those close to them.
As part of our Health Coach Training Program, we fully equip our students to start their own practices. About 25% of our training program encompasses applied business training to give our students a strong foundation from which to start a successful business. They learn to network, teach workshops, and offer initial consultations. In addition, they receive a professional website, brochures, business cards, and a one-on-one coach to support them in creating their own business.
Becoming a health coach, just like any other business, requires training, time and energy. It’s not enough to just “hang a shingle” and wait for clients. Our students’ success varies based on the amount of time and effort they put forth in following the steps in our curriculum. Most of our students graduate having had enough success to pay back some of their tuition while still in school. Some even pay back their entire tuition, and make a profit!
Testimonials from Integrative Nutrition Alumni
I was hesitant to sign up for IIN, but as soon as I started researching it, I found 3 people in 1 week who had attended. Each person had nothing but FABULOUS things to say! I could not believe the positive feedback. I decided to enroll, and have not looked back since. I value every aspect of my time with IIN. The education is so valuable and has opened up so many doors. They have created something really special that will never be duplicated. No matter what your purpose is: career change, helping people, improving personal health, making money...IIN does it all. In fact you will get more out of it than you ever thought possible! So be warned...it is a life-changing, eye-opening journey.

I worked in financial services for 16 years and knew I wanted to make a career change, but wasn't sure how to do it. When a friend forwarded Integrative Nutrition's website I was overwhelmed with excitement to see a school that focused on my interest in health and wellness and could help me transition into a career as a health coach. IIN did not disappoint. Integrative Nutrition provides health and wellness and business knowledge, and gives you an incredible network and community to be a part of. I am now a health coach and have helped my clients meet and exceed the health goals they set for themselves. It's such a wonderful feeling to know what you do actually makes a difference in people's lives.
Just like everything in life, you get out what you put in. Choosing Integrative Nutrition, following the provided instructions to build a business, taking advantage of the lectures on literally any health-related topic you could dream up, and engaging in the community of like-minded integrative health professionals will set you up for success, whatever your intent may be.
