Job: Radiologist and Health Coach
Childhood ambition: To cure cancer. Though now I want to prevent it.
Favorite snack food: Raw almonds. Dark chocolate-dipped strawberries.
Biggest challenge: Embracing uncertainty, staying out of my own way and not getting tripped up by technology.
Health concerns I've cleared up: Food changes everything. Most disease is due to unhealthy habits. Health education is the key to transformation. It helped me lose 30 pounds and gain renewed energy, as well as passion, purpose and a healthy, balanced family life.
What I love about health coaching: I love observing people transform their bodies, minds, spirit, careers and relationships. I love the freedom to custom-create a career that nourishes me and the world! Plus, I get to have fun with my kids again!
What I love about Integrative Nutrition: I was frustrated with preventable disease. I loved IIN's philosophies of primary food, crowding out, bio-individuality and the inspirational world class speakers. IIN provided the support and business tools for me to make a difference. IIN provided me with a framework to coach others to health and happiness. I love the ongoing support, inspiration and networking with a community of like-minded coaches.
About My Practice
My specialty: Weight loss for busy moms. Clients experience healthy, sustainable weight loss, freedom from food fog and renewed energy, balance, passion and purpose.
What my clients love about my program: Easy practical tips that embody the deep wisdom of science, nature and spirit, so they can crowd out unhealthy choices.
My favorite juicy question to ask my clients is: What do you want? What do you really, really want?
In addition to seeing clients, I also: Promote health as the Chair of Public Health. I speak on Canadian Breakfast TV and to schools, communities and corporations. I write articles and have written my first book, Doctor Up The Recipe. I also enjoy my part-time work as an ultrasound radiologist.
What I love about what I do: I love guiding others to healthy weight loss and their true purpose. I love the freedom to create a flexible career that nourishes me, satisfies my purpose and allows me to express my unique gifts while enjoying my life as a wife and mom.
How my life has changed: I no longer work 24/7 from a stressed, inefficient place of resentment and martyrdom. I now enjoy my weekends and evenings with my family and friends. I have a career that nourishes me and others.
How I am making a difference in my community: I give nutrition talks to schools and have revamped an opening school day barbecue. I promote healthy living as the Chair of Public Health. Globally, I sponsor three children through World Vision so they may have improved nutrition and education.
My greatest success so far: Publishing my book, Doctor Up The Recipe and being a guest on Breakfast TV.
The message I want to get out: The best way to help and heal is to start with yourself. Only when you are strong, healthy and happy can you give your best to your family and the world. My message is "Be Good For YOU!"
My favorite inspirational quote: "Be the change you wish to see in the world." —Gandhi
