    Learn the signs of emotional eating plus dive into key differences between emotional eating and eating disorders, supporting yourself and clients within your scope of practice as a Health Coach.
  • Root causes and triggers of emotional eating
    From stress and lack of sleep to body “ideals” and diet culture, we’ll deconstruct common biases and norms that fuel unhealthy habits. Plus develop a deep understanding of your relationship with food.

What do I need to get started?

In order to successfully take and complete IIN's Emotional Eating Course, you must speak English as this course is entirely in English. Aside from that, this seven-month course is open to anyone! While we encourage students to have a foundational knowledge of what health coaching is, you don't need to be an IIN student or graduate to enroll.

Course overview

Gain in-depth knowledge of emotional eating. Learn coaching strategies to support yourself and others to find the root of compulsive eating patterns and get empowered to find nourishment beyond food.

Modules 1-6
-Gain a robust understanding of your emotions, the ins-and-outs of emotional eating, and the powerful roles of stress, body image, and how you "tell your story"
-Learn the key differences between emotional and physical hunger, how to break the 'stress cycle,' and the important role of a Health Coach in addressing emotional eating
-Get the tools you need to coach clients effectively and safely, including relevant case studies to deeply understand coaching skills in practice
Modules 7-12
-Learn to identify common eating disorders, how they are affected by a myriad of lifestyle factors, and how to coach as a part of a larger treatment team
-Dive deep into the science behind cravings, the impact of sugar in the diet, and read relevant case studies to help apply what you're learning in real-life scenarios
-Explore the connection between emotional eating behaviors and intimacy, including how to address deeper emotional needs with your clients for better health and balance
Modules 13-18
-Gain access to materials to begin weekly accountability coaching sessions, as well as more in-depth case study work to apply what you're learning
-Explore all the potential forms of nourishment aside from food and how to empower yourself and clients to cultivate more self-compassion
-Learn more ways to support clients in tapping into their inner wisdom, including how to listen more carefully to body signals and hunger cues
Modules 19-24
-Begin to piece what you've learned together, creating strategies for more mindful eating, repairing your relationship with food, and how a coach works with clients in these areas
-Further establish what it means to create individualized eating approaches that differ from "diets," and creating necessary boundaries that can empower clients to find what works for them
-Learn how to speak to weight loss as it relates to emotional eating, as well as deeper coaching tactics that support clients with resistance, setbacks, or self-sabotage

You can choose between a $399 installment plan with no fees or interest ($399 deposit is the first month's payment), or a $199 installment plan ($199 deposit is the first month's payment -- please note this plan includes 12.99% interest).

Frequently asked questions

How long is this course?
The Emotional Course is a seven-month course, which includes pre-course orientation materials, 24 modules of content, and holiday breaks (when new modules are not released).
Will this course be graded?

The course is graded on a pass/fail basis. Upon successful completion of the course (70% or higher on both tests), you will receive a certificate of completion.

What do I get when I complete this course?

At the end of the program, you’ll receive a digital certificate of completion and digital badge to publicly showcase your education. Because the course does not alter your scope of practice, your title won’t change. The information provided in this course (including info about nutrition and eating disorders) is for educational purposes only and will help you work effectively alongside doctors and other healthcare practitioners.

How much is tuition? Do I have payment plan options?
Tuition is $995 for students who pay in full and we offer three payment plan options. You can choose to either pay in full, pay $399 per month, or pay $199 per month. "
I read that you're an NBHWC approved continuing education provider, how do I earn credits for this course?

If you're a National Board-Certified Health and Wellness Coach, you can earn 20 continuing education credits by enrolling in and successfully completing the Emotional Eating Course! These credits will work towards your NBHWC recertification requirements.
