How New York City Health Coach Robyn Youkilis Found Her Balance

November 8, 2013

One look at Robyn Youkilis, Class of 2009, and you’d think she has been a wellness guru her entire life. As a top New York City Health Coach, she runs an online cooking course, works with clients through her one-on-one health coaching services, and is launching a new virtual health coaching program – and those are just a few of her ventures!

But Robyn wasn’t always as healthy (or happy) as she is now. Stuck in a rollercoaster cycle of bingeing and deprivation while working in an unfulfilling job, she knew there had to be a better way. That’s when she found Integrative Nutrition. The Health Coach Training Program empowered Robyn to heal her eating habits, establish balance in her life, launch her businesses as a Health Coach, and find a community of like-minded friends and colleagues.

What were you doing prior to enrolling at Integrative Nutrition?

Five years ago I was living in Los Angeles working as an actress and in documentary film and film festival production. I was unfulfilled and soul searching for what I really wanted to be doing with my life. During this time I met Scott, my now husband. As I began a new and blissful relationship, I started cooking a lot more. I always loved to be in the kitchen, but now I was walking to the farmer’s market every weekend and hauling home all the beautiful produce I purchased.

One day I was instant messaging with a friend about how I was tired of working gig to gig, that I needed something more, and I had always had this deep love of food. She told me about IIN. I enrolled without hesitation one week later.

How did your life change after enrolling?

It was the best decision I've ever made. I'm now my own boss, run two successful businesses, and am truly living a life of everything I ever could have imagined. I’ve found my “people.” I can now geek out over things like chocolate kale chips (yes they do exist) the newest green juice company or my latest tea obsession. This is all coming from someone who had never eaten kale before becoming a student at Integrative Nutrition!

Which topics and modules were most beneficial for you?

I learned how to re-eat, specifically what the right foods were for my unique body. What it really meant to have a "whole foods" based diet. That it was about eating the whole grain, not whole grain bread. From that I was able to end the cycle of “good and bad phases” and have never looked back.

What are you doing now?

I am a passionate New York City Health Coach with one mission in mind: to guide busy people towards their healthiest and most balanced selves. I offer boutique style one-on-one coaching, run a seasonal "members only" cooking club, launched a cutting edge online cooking course {Healthy} Cooking Camp, and teach my signature six-week virtual health coaching program, The Rockstar Roadmap.

I show women everything they need to do to effortlessly lose that stubborn weight, feel like they're bursting with energy, and live life from a place of inspiration, passion, and true freedom. I believe that big dreams start with a glass of water.

What makes you and your practice or product unique?

I don’t believe in extra padding so my program and coaching is 100% fluff-free. This information is exactly what you need to do, straightforward and uncomplicated. Really, it’s everything everyone else is afraid to say or share and it works. Even my colleagues call me when they want to know exactly what they need to do to get back on track!

How do you help your clients be successful?

My techniques break the mold of traditional health coaching and give clients the energy and the motivation to cook and to nourish hassle-free in the kitchen. I believe that small, doable shifts in your diet and lifestyle can create impactful and lasting results.

Busy people are my specialty and I make it easy for them. I take away all the thinking, excuses and “should”-ing, and get down to the nitty gritty of exactly what they need to be doing and exactly how they'll do it. I am the ultimate problem-solver.

What do you love about your work?

I love the freedom and creativity that comes when you are your own boss. I love changing people's lives—helping them to feel more energized and balanced than ever, fall in love with themselves, transform their relationship with food, giving them concrete and practical tips so they truly live their life beyond their wildest dreams.
