IIN was honored recently to have the chance to host Walter Willet for a discussion of health care and health coaching. The physician, Harvard Medical School professor, and nutrition authority shared his thoughts on the evolution of the health care system and nutrition knowledge in America, as well as the role that Health Coaches can play in the ongoing global health revolution.
The Institute for Integrative Nutrition is thrilled to announce a new partnership with Mercy Corps, a leading humanitarian aid organization working to save and improve lives in the world’s toughest places. For every new student who enrolls at IIN, we’re donating $100 to Mercy Corps’ nutrition programs in Guatemala and Ethiopia. This $100 will be amplified by other partners to an average of $6,025 for each program, adding up to big impact.

Deciding what to do with her Health Coaching career after graduating from IIN in 2011 wasn’t a problem for Gina Bria. While studying at Integrative Nutrition, she became passionate about the global issue of chronic dehydration, and motivated to find a solution. She credits IIN with giving her the confidence she needed to look at the problem as an opportunity, and create a business around solving it.
Today, she runs the Hydration Foundation in New York, and is the creator of Hychia, an answer to the problem of dehydration. In this video, you’ll see a typical day in Gina’s busy life, from her “dynamite” breakfast smoothie to group stretching to wellness seminars that energize her employees.

With an influx of tech companies and big businesses, San Francisco has become nearly as fast-paced and high-pressure as Manhattan. Working there as a CPA for a large corporation, Jessica Mishra certainly felt that pressure. When her own health issues led her to seek out answers in the holistic health realm, she realized that there was an alternative: a life of balance, health, and peace.
Inspired by her own experience, she enrolled in IIN and left her corporate job upon graduating in 2011. Jessica now offers corporate wellness programs to help others facing the challenging circumstances she once overcame. “I became passionate about helping other busy professionals find balance and optimum health,” she says, and now does this by offering yoga classes and nutrition counseling, as well as financial and business coaching services. Combining her financial and corporate expertise with her wellness training allows her to address the whole person—at home, at work, and in the world. “I have guided many clients through difficult financial times,” she says. “And I now hope to apply this experience to support wellness!”
