Noor Al Jawhari: How Postpartum & Burnout Led to a New Path in Wellness

Written by Nancy Essebag-Christie | May 21, 2026 5:44:54 PM

After years of living in constant stress and pressure, I realized I had become disconnected from my own wellbeing. My postpartum experiences became a turning point, leading me to slow down, reconnect with my body, and prioritize emotional wellbeing, mindfulness, and hormone balance. What began as a personal healing journey eventually inspired me to leave my 15-year career in IT consulting and pursue a new path in women’s wellness and health coaching.

Through The Health Coach Training Program, along with IIN’s Gut Health Course, Hormone Health Course, and Mindful Eating Course, I gained the tools and confidence to turn my experiences into a coaching philosophy rooted in emotional healing, nervous system regulation, and holistic wellness. Today, through HealthyNourita and my S.O.F.T. framework, I support women and mothers in building healthier, more grounded relationships with themselves and their bodies.

Q&A: The Beginning

BEFORE IIN, WHAT WAS LIFE LIKE FOR YOU IN TERMS OF WELLNESS AND SELF-CARE, AND WHAT WAS PROMPTING YOU TO EXPLORE A NEW PATH?

A: I was living in a cycle of never-ending tasks, responsibility, and pressure all the time. I hardly had space for my own wellbeing, and when I did, my inner guilt hit me so hard. Over time, especially through my own postpartum experience, I realized I wanted a new path where I could enjoy living, prioritize my emotional wellbeing, and build a healthier relationship with my body—one with a deep connection where I could understand what my body’s cues were telling me.

HOW DID YOUR POSTPARTUM EXPERIENCE AFTER YOUR FIRST CHILD DIFFER FROM YOUR EXPERIENCE AFTER YOUR SECOND?

A: After my first child, postpartum hit me hard. I felt disconnected from my body, overwhelmed, lonely despite being surrounded by family and supportive circles, and filled with self-doubt. After my second child, I made time in my schedule just for journaling and reconnecting with my body and the hormonal changes I was going through. I sat with my emotions, did inner work, and focused on feeling grounded. Those experiences taught me to move with my body’s rhythm instead of resisting it. I realized self-care and emotional awareness are not just nice to have—they are the foundation of real, balanced health, which ultimately led me to coaching.

YOU TRANSITIONED FROM A 15-YEAR CAREER IN IT CONSULTING INTO HEALTH COACHING. WHAT GAVE YOU THE CONFIDENCE TO TAKE THAT LEAP?

A: I realized my life was stuck in constant stress loops without mindfulness or body awareness. I felt a real calling to support women in connecting with their emotions and bodies and building hormonal harmony toward whole wellbeing. My corporate background gave me valuable skills in being present with clients and creating structure, so I wasn’t starting from zero—I was bringing my strengths into my coaching path.

Q&A: Your Work & Coaching Philosophy

CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT HEALTHYNOURITA AND THE INSPIRATION BEHIND YOUR SOFT FRAMEWORK?

A: HealthyNourita, as a brand, is built on the core message that health starts from within—inside out. The mind, body, emotions, and hormones function as one system, and any internal imbalance reflects on the body and energy.

The main goal I want to support women with is building a healthy relationship with food and their bodies.

The concept of S.O.F.T. was born from the struggle of reacting without pausing and living on autopilot, disconnected from the body. I realized that health is not one-sided—it’s many factors working together to create a grounded, balanced state. We cannot focus only on emotional awareness without considering the hormonal side, and we cannot focus on hormones without calming the nervous system. Everything is connected. What we need is to return to that inner connection and instinct so we can feel safe, present, and in tune with ourselves again.

YOUR WORK BLENDS EMOTIONAL EATING SUPPORT, MINDFULNESS, HORMONE BALANCE, AND NERVOUS SYSTEM REGULATION. HOW DO THESE PIECES CONNECT FOR THE WOMEN AND MOTHERS YOU SUPPORT?

A: For me, emotions are the starting point of healing. When a client begins to understand the root causes of her emotional roller coaster, she becomes more aware and mindful of her behaviors. She starts to build a new inner belief: “I choose to” instead of “I have to.”

From there, it becomes easier to reconnect with the body and understand hormonal shifts across different phases. Hormones are no longer seen as the enemy—they become friends that guide us toward balance when we learn how to work with them.

As the journey continues, the client is introduced to the foundations of the nervous system, including the gut-brain connection, and learns how to support vagal tone through bio-individual practices that suit her own body.

By the end of the coaching journey, it feels more natural for her to connect with her inner expert—her own inner locus of control—and arrive at a more grounded, balanced state within herself.

MANY WOMEN STRUGGLE WITH FEELING OVERWHELMED, DISCONNECTED FROM THEMSELVES, OR STUCK IN CYCLES OF PERFECTIONISM. WHAT ARE SOME OF THE FIRST MINDSET SHIFTS OR SIMPLE PRACTICES YOU HELP CLIENTS IMPLEMENT TO CREATE LASTING CHANGE?

A: After the first phase of working deeply with their emotions, I move into the next step of uncovering and unlocking limiting beliefs—this is where a major shift begins to happen.

An emotional stress cycle usually starts with an emotion, then forms a thought, and eventually shows up as a behavior. When we interrupt this loop at the level of beliefs, everything starts to shift at the root—not just the surface behavior.

Q&A: IIN Experience

YOU CONTINUED YOUR EDUCATION WITH ADVANCED COURSES IN GUT HEALTH, HORMONE HEALTH, AND MINDFUL EATING (FORMERLY KNOWN AS EMOTIONAL EATING). HOW DID THOSE PROGRAMS HELP SHAPE YOUR COACHING PHILOSOPHY?

A: I love this question. I incorporated techniques from every program and kept what truly resonated with me and aligned with my approach.

For example, I use the gut-brain axis as a foundational pillar in my work to help clients understand the nervous system and how deeply it connects to emotions, cravings, and overall regulation.

I also follow a structure similar to IIN, where after each coaching session, the client receives a clear recap along with simple, practical exercises to support integration and real-life application between sessions.

YOU OFTEN SPEAK ABOUT “PROGRESS OVER PERFECTION.” HOW HAS EMBRACING THAT MINDSET CHANGED YOUR OWN LIFE PERSONALLY?

A: I had a difficult time unlearning my perfectionism, and I actually had to go back and work on its roots. I realized it started during my school years, where high grades became a way of proving I was doing well and was “enough.”

Over time, this turned into a pattern that caused me to lose opportunities because of perfectionism—waiting, overthinking, or feeling like things were never ready yet.

So I started shifting toward small, consistent habits, trusting that real change comes from compounding, not intensity. I also realized that the body remembers everything, and perfection doesn’t really take us anywhere—progress is what keeps us moving.

Now I value every small step. Nothing is too small to count, and nothing is overlooked in the journey.

Q&A: Motherhood & Wellness

AS A MOTHER AND WELLNESS PROFESSIONAL, WHAT DOES BALANCE REALISTICALLY LOOK LIKE FOR YOU IN THIS SEASON OF LIFE?

A: The concept of balance for me has shifted into the concept of presence. Being fully present with my clients, fully present with my kids, and fully present with my husband.

I no longer see balance as doing everything perfectly at the same time. For me, true balance is being intentional and genuinely there in the moment. As long as I am fully dedicated to where I am, that becomes true mindfulness for me in this season of life.

WHAT’S ONE WELLNESS HABIT OR RITUAL THAT HELPS YOU FEEL GROUNDED ON BUSY DAYS?

A: I have two major grounding habits: praying on time and practicing yoga.

For me, prayer is my soul’s connection to Allah—it brings me back to calmness, presence, and inner peace. Yoga is how I reconnect deeply with my body, especially on busy or overwhelming days.

Both help me slow down, regulate my energy, and return to myself.

WHAT’S SOMETHING YOU WISH MORE MOTHERS GAVE THEMSELVES PERMISSION TO DO WITHOUT GUILT?

A: I wish more mothers gave themselves permission to truly feel what they are feeling without guilt.

Many mothers try to put on a mask and force a smile while suppressing what’s happening inside. But I believe suppressed emotions eventually get expressed in different ways, sometimes even through the energy within the home and the children around us.

That’s why I believe when a mother works on regulating and understanding her emotions, she is not only supporting herself—she is supporting her whole family.

Q&A: Fun Favorites

WHAT’S CURRENTLY BRINGING YOU JOY OR INSPIRATION LATELY?

A: I enjoy reading wellness books and listening to podcasts. When I read, I often get inspired with new ideas that help me update my program and become more creative in my coaching sessions.

When I listen to podcasts, I really enjoy hearing entrepreneurs’ stories and learning how they built their journeys and became successful. It motivates me and gives me a fresh perspective both personally and professionally.

WHAT’S YOUR GO-TO HEALTHY SNACK OR COMFORT MEAL RIGHT NOW?

A: Recently, my go-to snack has been dates with tahini. It’s so filling and satisfies my sweet cravings.

WHAT’S ONE THING PEOPLE WOULD BE SURPRISED TO LEARN ABOUT YOU?

A: Core spiritual values are deeply important to me. One of the moments that truly touches me is when a client says, “You made me realize how generous God is, and now I feel more grateful for everything I have.”

For me, healing is not only physical or emotional—it is also deeply connected to gratitude, faith, and feeling spiritually grounded throughout the journey.

WHAT’S ONE SONG, ARTIST, OR PLAYLIST THAT INSTANTLY LIFTS THE MOOD IN YOUR HOME OR GETS YOUR KIDS DANCING?

A: Authentic Palestinian folklore songs. There is something about the traditional instruments and sounds that instantly lift my mood and make me feel light and deeply connected to my roots.
