Meet Kavita Jhaveri, a 2009 Integrative Nutrition grad. Read how she is fulfilling her dreams and helping others at the same time.
What were you doing before IIN?
I was a Management/IT Consultant for 8 years. I went into consulting in order to be challenged, travel, learn quickly, and be surrounded in a young and vibrant environment. Somewhere along the way I realized that I wasn’t fulfilled. I was overworked, stressed, and my body began to break down.
What led you to explore IIN's program?
My brother introduced me to his friend, and when I asked her what she does for a living, she said I am a Holistic Health Counselor. She had me at Holistic. From that point forward I was hooked. I researched the school and the curriculum was dynamic, cutting edge, and resonated with me immediately, especially the flexibility of being able to go to school while holding a full time job.
What has happened since you enrolled in IIN's program?
In March 2009 I created my own health counseling practice, Kavita Wholistic. I am a Health and Lifestyle Coach supporting woman on understanding their body-mind connection in order to lose weight, resolve digestive disorders, increase their energy, and support them in understanding what motivates them in order for them to live their best life. I graduated from the program in July with over 20 clients, affiliation with two doctors, have written articles for the American Fertility Association, given workshops, and achieved all this with a full time job.
What did you learn at IIN?
I learned that Primary Food is where it’s at. The effects of relationships, career ambitions, exercise, and spirituality are major factors in how one feels, thinks, and reacts. Most ailments, symptoms, stress, and complaints in general are due to some imbalance in a primary food area. I have seen this play out in my own life. I went from living in a somewhat stressful marriage to a happy, loving, and supporting marriage, and it isn’t because I switched husbands, although sometimes it feels like that. I realized that this shift in particular had everything to do with me and little to do with my husband. Once my perspective changed, so did my marriage, I lost 10 lbs, and I feel more energy than ever.
What do you love about the school?
What I love about IIN is that it provided me with the confidence, information, and community to support me in creating my own successful business.
What do you love about your work?
I love getting people what they want. Empowering them to take back the control over their lives and living a life that feels liberating, magical, and loving. I support others in creating a life for themselves, specific to them, given their set of circumstances.
Congratulations to Kavita on her success as a Health Counselor. Her website is www.kavitawholistic.com.
