Can Meditation Be a Form of Medicine? [Video]

The benefits of meditation have long been established, but remember when it was a thing mostly associated with hippies, yogis, and monks? Those days are long gone, and now everyone from Wall Street bankers to computer programmers are saying “om.”

We had the opportunity to learn from Dr. Jamie Zimmerman that meditation might be exactly what the world needs. Dr. Zimmerman was a physician who practiced what she called “meditation medicine,” and helped her clients reap the many physical, mental, and emotional benefits of meditation. As she said in our interview together, it's no mistake that the words “meditation” and “medication” sound so similar!

Watch our interview to hear Dr. Zimmerman explain why meditation is so healthy and and how you can start a daily meditation practice. Watch below to get inspired!

Editor's Note: We were extremely saddened to learn of Dr. Zimmerman's passing a few months after this interview. Through her story and teachings we celebrate her life and know her memory will live on.
