January 2021 Class

Valerie Williams

What were you doing prior to enrolling at Integrative Nutrition?

I was honestly researching my own health problems on every web page I could find my symptoms on. I also knew I wanted to do more with wellness and nutrition.

How did your life change after enrolling?

I did some health coaching in my military community. COVID made it hard for volunteer work as, at the time, I had cancer so I had to be extra careful. But I really enjoyed helping out my fellow military moms with their goals, meals, and getting their kids to eat healthy. I have truly enjoyed this experience and opportunity to learn from Joshua and all the amazing staff.

I started my official business, opened my website, and started seeing clients last year. I have built several programs that I have enjoyed watching my clients become successful with. I have also learned so much and incorporated so much into my own life, especially with my child and husband. They have learned to adopt to our new healthy living. IIN helped me realize also how important mindfulness is to our every day, and I have incorporated that not only into my programs but into my daily life. Thank you, IIN!

This course changed my view of the meaning of work. I did not think that I could turn this into a loving and passionate job that I could do from home.

What were you doing prior to enrolling at Integrative Nutrition?

Before enrolling at IIN, I volunteered my time weekly in grant research at my local food bank as well as in the distribution center. I teach low-cost health classes at my city's community center.

I was navigating my new phase of life as a soon-to-be “empty nester” and searching for new purpose.

How did your life change after enrolling?

IIN brought balance and clarity to my life and my health with a focus on topics such as food as function, digestive health, and recognizing when anxiety is real vs. perceived.

What were you doing prior to enrolling at Integrative Nutrition?

I am the director of the Pan American Food and Music Festival in Toronto. In 2017, I received the most important award for a Latin person in Canada: one of the 10 most influential Hispanics in Canada.

How did your life change after enrolling?

Last year was one of the most important of my life. I have found myself again. I found my life purpose, and I can say with confidence that I would like to be a Health Coach for the rest of my life.

What were you doing prior to enrolling at Integrative Nutrition?

When I emigrated, I did different online jobs that allowed me to take care of my children. After, I put together my passions to create Plusfulness.

How did your life change after enrolling?

[IIN] created a before and after in my life. I learned about what nourishes us and isn’t in our daily meals. I was able to incorporate new habits into my family and learn how to help others.
