Why Your Nutrition Facts Aren’t Cutting It [Video]

When you walk into the grocery store, chances are you’re bombarded with marketing tactics at every turn boasting the health benefits of this cereal or that protein bar.

But how do you know which products are actually best for you? After all, many  “whole grain” cereals are loaded with refined sugar, and while some gummy bears may be made with “real fruit juice” they still aren’t exactly a health food.

Integrative Nutrition visiting teacher Dr. David Katz is hoping to cut through the confusion with an innovative new labeling system called NuVal. With an incredibly clear scoring system from 1-100, consumers are immediately able to see how products stack up against each other, and can quickly “trade up” to a healthier choice.

In this interview, Dr. Katz explains more about NuVal and shares other simple tips to lose weight and reclaim your health. Watch below!
