¿Por qué finalmente decidiste venir a IN?

Origin Story

What did health and wellness look like for you, growing up?

For me, health and well-being, growing up, meant having a slim body ‒ which had me obsessed for years. I wanted to look good, even if it meant feeling physically, mentally, and emotionally bad.

Why did you ultimately decide to come to IIN?

In 2015, a young cousin was diagnosed with cancer. He was a healthy teenager; he exercised and ate well. This left me really confused about my understanding of health and well-being. “Why is this happening to him?” ran through my head endlessly.

It was after this that I decided to deepen the relationship between my body and food (I confess that my goal was still to be thin at that time), and I found a course called “What Is Your Life Hungry For?”

It was a revealing weekend. I learned a lot, and at the end of the course I saw that the instructor had an IIN certificate on her wall. I decided to investigate ‒ and in just a couple of days, I was enrolled.

My search for real health had a path, and that made me feel clear, safe, and open to learning.

Perspectives on Nutrition and Health Coaching

How are you using your IIN education?

IIN helped me to connect with my life mission, which is to share meditation with all the people who wanted to come to practice.

After I graduated from IIN in 2016, I began a journey of rediscovery of meditation. I got certified as a guide and studied for a master's degree in mindfulness and meditation. Today I dedicate myself 100% to living my mission.

IIN changed the course of my life, and for that, I will always be grateful.

What about your IIN education inspired you most?

IIN showed me that there are women teaching meditation! Up until then, I had taken courses and workshops only with men. I had the belief that it was something only a male teacher could do. IIN opened my eyes and showed me all my possibilities.

What does being a Health Coach mean to you?

For me, being a Health Coach means sharing my passion for wellness with my community and helping them transform their lives.

How do you apply bio-individuality in your life? Your clients' lives?

Bio-individuality: This unique IIN concept means that we’re all different and must embrace our uniqueness to best take care of our health, from the foods we eat to the environments we thrive in and everything in between.

Throughout different courses and workshops and for my master's degree, I have learned different traditions and meditative techniques. I know that each of us is different, and we connect with different energy and practices.

I dedicate myself to sharing the variety of practices that exist so meditators can experiment and find what works for them to bring peace and calm to their lives.

Nutrition, Healthcare and Equity in the Wellness World

If we traveled to your country, what would we find in terms of food, wellness practices, etc.?

Mexico is a place rich in health and wellness! We have all the ingredients for a delicious and healthy meal, plus there are hundreds of professionals ready to help you be and feel better. The community of Health Coaches in Mexico is getting bigger, and it is beautiful to share our experiences.

About meditation, although there is still much to explore, I think a beautiful job is being done to expand and reach more people.

Why do you see meditation as the vehicle for wellness for everyone?

I define meditating as a practice of self-love in which I declare myself a priority every day, I decide to have time for myself, to listen to myself, to feel myself, and that is well-being.

If we all take 10 minutes a day to connect with our bodies, minds, and emotions, and from there make more conscious decisions, this will have a huge impact on our health and well-being.

Personal Goals for Social Impact

What is your “why”?

“Why” – This refers to one’s purpose and the reason(s) behind their chosen work.

I share the meditative practice because I know that it has the power to create a more inclusive, more peaceful, and happier planet.

We all deserve a space of peace at home, to have time to spend with ourselves, to let go of the rush and enjoy being, and meditation has the power to help us achieve this.

If you wanted your audience from your country to know one thing about health coaching, what would it be?

Wellness is a flower with many petals. You don't have to do everything at once; it starts with one thing, which could be to meditate, eat more plants, drink enough water, write your feelings, get your finances straight, exercise...the list goes on and on.

Start with one, and you’ll feel better, and that will have an impact on all other areas of your life.
