US Congress Introduces Support for IIN Health & Wellness Coaches

A new resolution, the Health and Wellness Coach Resolution (H. Res. 552), was introduced in Congress that acknowledges the importance of Health Coaching and the critical role coaches play. This is a pivotal moment for the Integrative Nutrition community, and we’re so excited to see our allies in Congress supporting the important work we do!

Check out what Congressman Donald M. Payne, Jr. had to say about it…

“Now more than ever, we need to recognize the contributions of health and wellness coaches and lend them support as they continue to inspire positive behavior changes that will dramatically lower our nation’s health care costs.”

Pretty cool, right?

We thank Rep. Vern Buchanan, Rep. Markwayne Mullin, Rep. Grace Napolitano, Rep. Donald Payne Jr. , Rep. Ed. Perlmutter, Rep. Tim Ryan, and Rep. Mark Takai for their sponsorship of this resolution. (Want to send your thanks? Tweet at them using #healthcoachresolution – they’d love to hear from you!)

Congress is truly supportive of the important work Health Coaches do, and throughout 2016 IIN will work with even more members to bring awareness, recognition and support to our vital and growing profession.

You can show your support for the resolution by signing the petition here.
