You Don’t Have to Be Perfect to Be a Health Coach

Joshua Rosenthal, Founder, Director, and Primary Teacher of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition shares his wisdom about creating a healthy and happy life that helps transform the world.

One of the biggest fears I hear from someone who’s interested in Integrative Nutrition is that they don’t think they’re healthy enough to be a Health Coach.

Have you ever thought this?

If you’re reading this and doing your best to eat real food, exercise, and surround yourself with positivity then don’t worry about it, you’re already WAY ahead of the curve, and that makes you more than qualified to help others.

Think about it, wouldn’t you rather be coached by someone who has experienced their own personal transformation and can really take a walk in your shoes than someone who seems to have just been born with great genes?

Health Coaches are so successful because they are relatable and really understand the challenges of their clients!

You don’t have to be “perfect” to make a powerful impact in someone’s life.

If your plan is to wait until you are an ideal size or shape, have a consistent fitness routine, or have zero desire for indulgences before you start sharing and helping, you’ll be waiting forever, and you’ll be wasting an opportunity to enrich the lives of the people around you.

All you have to know is a little bit more than the other person.

And if you’re the type to share healthy recipes, the benefits of meditation, the importance of self-care, or any other wellness tips in general conversation then you are already a Health Coach and you don’t even know it!

Am I saying that anyone can be a great Health Coach? No, it takes hard work, but the skills you need can be developed. Along the journey to becoming and Integrative Nutrition Health Coach you’ll deepen your own sense of wellness, knowledge and confidence to be an effective coach.

You are your first client, and from there you’ll inspire and help to heal others.  Pretty amazing, right?

Now, I'd like to hear from you. Have you ever experienced this fear?  If so, what is one passion or strength of yours that you think will make you a good Health Coach?  Share with me in the comments below!
